What Are The PSMA Standards?

The Pennsylvania Septage Management Association (PSMA) was established to protect citizens by overseeing wastewater practices. Companies adhering to their inspection standards have proven to deliver top-quality services when it comes to maintenance practices and responsible disposal of sewage. PSMA members are considered the best in the business, and you can find PSMA certified companies in states other than Pennsylvania.

Hire the Best

Different states have different regulations governing wastewater treatment inspections, and some lack them altogether. To avoid the risk of substandard services, you should always find out if the septic company you plan to hire is a PSMA member and if the inspector is PSMA certified. They should be able to provide the proper credentials, proving they have done the work to earn PSMA distinction.

We’re PSMA Certified
To uphold our reputation for excellence, EarthCare requires all inspectors to be properly trained and certified by the Pennsylvania Septage Management Association. This means our guys have been taught to evaluate every component of a septic system including the tanks, distribution systems, siphons, and surrounding soil. The PSMA also covers the industry standards:

  • Inspector Qualifications
  • Training and Continuing Ed Requirements
  • On lot System Operation
  • Field Procedures
  • Inspection Checklist
  • Inspection Reports

These standards are updated every 2 years so you can be sure our techs are familiar with the latest and greatest practices and any changes to wastewater laws. After inspecting your unit, we’ll rate the condition of the system and issue a written report that you can submit to the Board of Health or to any other necessary party, such as a buyer in a real estate transaction. Regardless of the purpose of your inspection, we encourage you to be smart when choosing the person to do it. Have one of our PSMA certified techs perform your septic inspection today!
